This is the website for fine artist Richard Lange of Santa Fe, New Mexico. It contains original artwork, primarily digital archival-ink prints, photographic prints and giclees of Lange's oil paintings.
 
ABOUT THE ARTWORK These digitally created art works are printed on Somerset Velvet Radiant White, a museum-quality fine art paper using Fotonic Ink. The ink is acclaimed for its exceptionally wide color-gamut and excellent archival rating. It is essentially the same kind of ink used on Iris Prints. Based on research done in-house by Lyson, Heaton Mersey, Stockport, England (www.Lyson.com/) and Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc. (www.wilhelm-research.com) its archival rating is similar - if not superior to - fine art photographs.   Limited Edition ORIGINAL PRINTS The archival-ink prints are original artwork created using various digital art software, a drawing tablet and, most often, photographic images that have been highly manipulated or abstracted. The prints are limited to Editions of 30 or 60 prints for each image.   GICLÉE PRINT Reproductions The giclée (zhee-CLAY) prints are individually reproduced images taken from a digital scanned or photographed image of existing artwork. The Giclées here are digitally-enhanced reproductions of several of Lange's landscape oil paintings. MIXED-MEDIA Artwork The mixed-media pieces are composed of archival ink prints and pastels on lauan wood boxes layered with numerous coats of encaustic - a time honored and ancient resin-wax medium that adds a luminous depth, texture and coloration to the artwork while protecting its surface. These works are available in limited editions of 30 boxes for each image, measuring 12” x 12” X 1.75”. Due to the individual creation and use of pastels and encaustics, each work is slightly different than the others in that edition. PRINT SIZES & PRICES Unless specified otherwise, the full-size prints are formatted as follows: Horizontal, 14.75" x 20.75," or Vertical, 20.75" x 14.75". (This image area includes a narrow white border on top and sides, and a bottom border deep enough to accommodate Title, Edition Number and Artist Signature.) The above sized prints proportionally fit a standard 28" x 22" or 30” x 24” frame. Because these are digital prints they may also be special ordered in any proportionally smaller size you choose. For example, a vertical print sized to 13.50" x 9.50" fits into a standard 20" x 16" frame.
